The day I arrived ,Maru Maru hotel welcoming me wth smiling face, I exhausted by the long journey ,I was very impressed by hospitality and professional behaviour of the managers and staff, they made me feel at home🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 The hotel is very emaculate in nice location and very close to the beach and other sight seeing places and banks !! Restaurant had high standard of food Choices for breakfast Lunch, dinner with hygiene standards. I surely come back again to Maru Maru hotel and also I recommend to my family and friends!! Magnifique séjour ! L'hôtel est superbe et le personnel est vraiment adorable. Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir échanger en français avec Shibani qui a pu nous aider et nous conseiller. Le petit déjeuner est juste incroyable ! Varié et délicieux. Il y a une piscine et salle de sport ce qui est un plus non negligeable. Enfin il est super bien situé. Je recommande vraiment cet hôtel. ~ Assiata F
Maru Maru is a located in the heart of Stonetown, just 5 mins from the sea front and 10 mins from the ferry terminal. Our room was very clean and cozy with a super shower. It offers everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace and it was superb, with different choices each day. Service was exemplary. We reported problems connecting to WiFi and the next day an IT engineer had visited and fixed the issue. They even left a bottle of wine to say "sorry for the inconvenience". The hotel hosts live music each night until 10.30pm, but the noise stops punctually. Given the central location, there is noise in the morning from the call to prayer and from a nearby school. If you are very sensitive to noise, you should take this into consideration. ~ Mazahir M
Super leckerer Cocktail in der Happy Hour auch als xxl sehr lecker. Der Ausblick von der Root Top Bar ist traumhaft. Kuchen und Kaffe aus der Backery sind aucj sehr zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr zentral gelegen man ist schnell am Hafen, Night market, und in der gesamten Innenstadt. Sehr zu empfehlen. Pool gibt auch. Se vuoi mangiare sicuro a Stone Town devi per forza scegliere posti conosciuti, non ti puoi avventurare nei chioschetti per la strada, rischi di mangiare cose di cui non hai abitudine. La guida mi ha consigliato due posti e devo dire che ho scelto questo per panorama dall' alto della città, stupendo. Il cibo è discreto, con capacità di accontentare tutti i palati......molto bene ~ gianluca a
I don't usually give 5 stars to hotels or restaurants I visit but this deserves it.. I went there for dinner and I fell in love with the place.. It has great staffs, I enjoyed their good and swahili songs the band was singing.. The food was nice too.. The hotel looks beautiful with artistic taste which made me like it more.. Their restaurant is on the rooftop and you can see Unguja buildings beautiful.. And if you are sunset lover that is the best place to see it too.. You can also view the ocean just a little bit away.. It also has a swimming pool for swimmers and a bar too.. Will definitely come back and I will recommend it to others.. As usual I order chicken (My favourite) and Ice-cream which makes me sleep better.. But there are varieties of tasteful food.. Oooh I forgot it also has a gym and a tennis court which is amazing.. ~ Miss S
Vi hadde en fortreffelig opplevelse av dette hotellet. Bra beliggenhet, flott takterrasse med tilgang på restaurant og bar. Det var en fin avslutning på ferien. Alle ansatte var imøtekommende og sørget for å ivareta oss på best mulig måte. Skal vi tilbake til Stone Town igjen, så velger vi dette hotellet igjen. Det kunne vært flere solsenger tilgjengelig, siden det er plass nok til flere i bassengområdet. ~ Kjetil A
Stayed 3 nights at the marumaru very well located , enjoyed the new year night buffet though left after an early dinner , over the festive period we were given many sovienors , breakfast well spread with fresh fruits & bakery items , egg station , asked for Dosa & truly enjoyed it , roof top restaurant is the cherry on the cake , staff very helpful & smiling , special thanks to the restaurant manager & Chefs , hats off to manager Anand Babu who spearheads the success . I would suggest the Hotel arrange with authoritys for street lights parallel to the Fort while walking to Marumaru as it's pretty dark (though Zanzibar is safe) , Marumaru too can have the street lights affixed for guests comfort & contribute to lighting the walk along the Fort to the property . Will definitely re visit Marumaru when in Zanzibar . ~ Hasnain F
A lovely hotel, in a great setting. I had a basic twin room which was perfectly adequate. The only small issue I had was the safe which kept locking me out as the batteries kept coming loose, but overall this wasn't a problem. The only other small complaint would be that the fridge wasn't great and nothing was cool, but other than those small niggles everything else was fine. Very clean, bed very comfy, air con worked really well. Beautiful bathroom with nice toiletries and a hairdryer. The swimming pool was great and the rooftop bar and restaurant was very good. The breakfast had a lot of choice. I would stay here again and I would be happy to recommend it. ~ suzie d
Ci siamo entrati solo per un aperitivo. Abbiamo preso 2 cocktail di cui uno analcolico e 2 birre (belle fresche, a Stone Town di solito non lo sono sempre). Ha una bellissima veranda con la piscina al 4 piano con il bar e il ristorante. Ottimo servizio e buon prezzo. Fanno anche Happy hour dalle 5 alle 7 pm. ~ Filippo P
During my short stay, I enjoyed the views from the rooftop and the salt-water pool . The exterior room on the 3rd floor also had gorgeous city and sea views. The room was quiet, very clean, and practical; however, improvements are needed in the quality of the pillows and mattress. The restaurant area at the rooftop served one of the best breakfasts in Zanzibar. The dinner was excellent, offering a variety of options to choose from. We tried traditional Swahili dishes - chicken and seafood curry. Last but not least, there is a very decent and modest spa. Overall, it was a very pleasant and quiet stay, with good amenities, in the beautiful surroundings of vibrant Stone Town. ~ A K
We visited the Restaurant , located on 4th top floor in the evening, after viewing the menu posted at street level and wanted to eat from the Swahili menu -see pictures-but the evening menu didn’t have it. We have a pure vegetarian family member and she was excited about eating the Mchicha Wanazi -Spinach in coconut and Ugali The Manager Mr Anand ,was kind enough to ask the chef and brought us the meal -he made the day!.I tasted a bit of the Ugali -perfectly made ( not hard or soft like I got in my boarding school !) The service was excellent, servers very accommodating and with smiles and the food we ordered was excellent-a Seafood biryani, Kukupaka (chicken in coconut curry ) etc The kids ordered pasta and cheese sauce !! Worth a visit and the music brought great ambiance both musicians had great voices ! Then after the kids got to enjoy the playground downstairs ~ Nasir J
Un hôtel très bien placé dans la vieille ville. Juste derrière le fort et à 1 rue de la mer. Nous y avons passé 1 nuit en arrivant à Zanzibar, et nous avons apprécié d'être dans les rues commerçantes animées de la vieille ville juste en sortant de l'hôtel. La piscine est sur le toit de l'hôtel avec une belle vue, le restaurant de l'hôtel aussi, nous n'y avons pas dîné mais le petit déjeuner en mode buffet est copieux et bon. ~ julie a
El lugar es divino! Limpio confortable, la calidad de la ropa de cama y el confort de la cama es excelente. Las habitaciones son amplias con un hermoso baño. Único hotel en Zanzíbar con planta potabilizadora de agua para el baño. La decoración es linda y delicada. El personal es muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Siempre están en todos los detalles. 직원들이 친절하고 서비스가 좋습니다. 깔끔함을 유지하기 위해 노력하는 모습들을 볼 수 있고 시설 내부가 잘 관리되어 있습니다. 루프탑의 경치는 잊을 수가 없습니다. 루프탑에서 먹는 조식과 저녁시간의 맥주 한 잔은 이 곳을 다시 찾게끔 합니다. 근처 야시장도 쉽게 방문할 수 있고 골목 골목 기념품 가게도 쉽게 들를 수 있습니다. ~ 이진희
This is a charming hotel. I love the unique chandeliers throughout the place. Even in the bathroom they were so pretty. I love a pretty room and nice bathrooms. The hot water was just right for the shower. Staff were very helpful. Every one of them were friendly, kind, and made themselves useful. The breakfast in the morning was amazing! There was great variety and fit anyone's eating preferences. The staffs were so kind to refill coffee and teacups quickly. The chai tea was some of the best I had ever had. This hotel is also in a convenient location for walking to the beachfront or through the town. ~ Judith E

El hotel es perfecto en todo: servicio, habitaciones, personal, desayuno y calidad del restaurante pero el único problema es que está demasiado en el centro, metido en una calle estrecha con mucho ruido porque además de todo el comercio de la calle tiene una parada de taxis que hace que haya jaleo hasta altas horas de la madrugada. Encima tuve la mala suerte que me dieron la habt dando a esa calle principal, en vez de al interior y no pude descansar ningún día !!! ~ Cristina M
We really enjoyed our stay at MaruMaru especially after the hustle and bustle of the Dar Ferry experience (fly if you can!). The staff working were all very friendly and the accommodation very clean. Our only criticism was the staff meetings took place by the pool where we were trying to relax and we felt bad for the girls having to stay standing for well over half an hour and we could hear what felt like criticism and berating. We had lunch there over our 3 days trying different dishes each day and being very happy with all of the flavour. The pool views are beautiful and it’s a great place to relax after busy morning and nights. ~ Lisa W
잔지바르의 2박3일 머문 호텔..친절하고 신속한 서비스 매우 흡족했다..루프탑 레스토랑의 노을과 함께 식사와 맥주..좋았다. 청결하고 세탁서비스도 당일 가능했고 비용도 적당했다..조식도 나쁘지않았다. 위치도 바닷가랑 시장 그리고 프레디머큐리 생가랑 가까워 매우 접근성 좋은 호텔.. ~ Christine N
Très bien situé à proximité des points d'intérêt principaux de StoneTown, l'architecture de l'hôtel est orientale, autour d'un patio typique, chambres propres et fonctionnelles, restaurant piscine sur le toit, bon petit déjeuner, restaurant correct, nous y avons séjourné 3 jours avec grand plaisir. ~ marc a
Hotel limpo, hospitaleiros fizeram nos sentir como se estivessemos em casa. No centro da cidade e bons pontos de referencia pa distrair por perto ou no terraço mesmo com boa musica ao vivo. Obrigado a Fatima e toda a equipe na recepção, restaurante e pessoal de limpeza. ~ Muca M
Our last stop after our round trip around Zanzibar. Rooms are welcoming us back in civilization, with real bathroom. King room was spacious and the bed was really relaxing. Only negative thing to mention is that everything is very noisy here. You hear much from outside the room from around 7 a.m.; during the night itself it was very silent. The roof top restaurant and pool are really cool. Staff and service were friendly and polite. Altough the hotel is in the centre of the old town, there is not much to do outside - except hundreds of small shops in the narrow streets. ~ Christian E
